As the clouds of Coronavirus begin to dissipate and restrictions lift across the country, Pride month could not feel more celebratory. Colorful and charitable Pride jewelry makes the month’s celebrations feel that much more special.

From Super Smalls’ rainbow Pride bundle to Dru’s Love is Love medallion, jewelry designers have made this month all about shopping with purpose. For Pride jewelry, these charitable ventures include donations to the GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance, led by Yi Guo of Yi Collection, and Awe Inspired’s collaboration with the Marsha P. Johnson Institute on their Marsha P. Johnson Goddess necklace. Darius Khonsary, the designer of her eponymous brand Darius Jewels, will be donating 50% of the proceeds from her Sisters Collection to various organizations that support the safety, rights, and livelihood of the Transgender community—including but are not limited to The Okra Project, For the Gworls, and the Trans Housing Coalition. Of the collection and its charitable aspect Khonsary says, “These pieces are, for me, directly tied to Transgender Magic. Magic and transformation have always been a part of our existence. To be able to contribute half of the proceeds to organizations that directly work to further the safety, livelihoods, and rights of the Transgender community is an incredible honor.”

Below, we spotlight 15 brands, their Pride jewels, and sparkling contributions to the cause.

Fox & Bond

Blair Fox and Sunny Bond of Los Angeles-based jewelry brand Fox & Bond have always applied a fresh take to vintage and antique jewelry, whether through excellent curation or the designs for Fox & Bond Originals, their in-house line. The duo has historically donated proceeds from the sales of The Originals collection to various organizations that they believe in, and that is no different this Pride month. All June long, Fox & Bond will donate 100% of proceeds from the Rainbow Starburst Ring to the National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network, which works to transform mental health for queer and trans people of color.

Awe Inspired

Jill Johnson and her son Max founded Awe Inspired in 2017 with the hopes of creating a brand known for meaningful and high-quality pieces. Four years later, it’s safe to say they have achieved that and more. Their Goddess Collection, which celebrates iconic women including Cleopatra and Marie Curie, now includes a pendant honoring Marsha P. Johnson. 100% of the proceeds from the Marsha P. Johnson Goddess Necklace will go to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute to support its mission to protect and defend the human rights of Black transgender people.

Aureum Collective

Vintage-inspired contemporary jewelry brand Aureum Collective, founded by entrepreneurs Cass DiMicco and Matthew Hoyle in their New York City apartment, is meant to evoke feelings of warmth and beauty. What better way to get that message across than with jewelry that gives back? Through June, 10% of the proceeds from their new and classic Ophelia rings will be donated to OutRight Action International. OutRight works at the international, regional, and national levels to research, document, defend, and advance human rights for LGBTQ+ people around the world.

Renna

With her natural-feeling fine jewelry brand Renna, Renna Taher seeks to create high-quality jewels that have a positive impact on the world around us. This June, Renna will donate 20% of the proceeds from her rainbow Thread and Shell necklace to New York’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. The Center offers advocacy, health and wellness programs; arts, entertainment, and cultural events; as well as recovery, parenthood, and family support services.

Sarah Hendler

Sarah Hendler honors the grand extravagance and sophistication of estate jewelry, with a more playful and contemporary twist. This June, she created an exclusive capsule collection with Stephanie Gottlieb in which 10% of each sale will be donated to GLSEN. GLSEN seeks to end discrimination, harassment, and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, as well as promote LGBTQ+ cultural inclusion and awareness early on in K-12 schools.

KatKim

Each Katkim piece is handcrafted in Los Angeles with sustainability, global responsibility, and thoughtful design in mind—as well as the brand’s characteristic cool-girl sparkle, which is made using only conflict-free diamonds. The multicolored Francesca ear pin is a perfect graphic but minimal addition for summer. And for the month of June, 10% of online sales will be donated to The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ people under 25.

Harwell Godfrey

In Lauren Harwell Godfrey’s eponymous line Harwell Godfrey, no detail is left unconsidered. This is evident in her rainbow heart pendant, inscribed with “We are one” on the back. The phrase is more than fitting for a piece with 100% of its profits donated to the Human Rights Campaign. In the designer’s own words: “I believe in equality for all, and until the LGBTQ+ community is treated justly under the law, their human rights and freedom are in jeopardy. I created an heirloom-quality version of the iconic rainbow so that we can visibly show our support every day for Pride and beyond.”

Dru

Dru is fueled by the power of words, mantras, and symbols. Designer Thea Miller imbues hidden messages of strength and empowerment in her jewelry, with hopes that the meaning behind each piece will transcend through to the wearer. For pride month, 30% of online sales of the Love is Love medallion will be donated to The Trevor Project.

Working closely with Italian goldsmiths, Temple’s pieces honor the special heritage of this regional craft. Her line features a beautiful array of whimsical iconic amulets, brilliant gemstones, and meticulous metalwork. In honor of Pride Month, 30% of all sales of the rainbow sapphire angel pendant will be donated to The Hetrick-Martin Institute, America’s largest and oldest LGBTQ+ youth service foundation.

Darius Jewels

Darius Khonsary views jewelry as totemic vessels—items of power and protection that connect us to the world at large. This is evident in her Sisters collection, which features ancient femme sisters that the designer reimagined from an over 4,000-year-old Akkadian cylinder seal. Darius Jewels will donate half of the proceeds from the Sisters collection to a rotating roster of organizations that work to further the rights of the Transgender community.

EF Collection

Emily Faith Goldstein, the designer and founder of EF Collection, believes that jewelry does not have to be large in scale to have a significant impact. She proves just this with her minimal yet glittering Rainbow Eternity Band ring. Through June, EF Collection will be donating 10% of the sales of the Rainbow Eternity Band ring to The Trevor Project.

ARK Fine Jewelry

Protective and meaningful talismans are at the core of ARK. Designer Ann Korman draws inspiration from a number of eastern spiritual practices (to which she herself is dedicated); notions of Vedic healing energy and tantric motifs are often found in her pieces. Her jewelry connects wearers to concepts of enlightenment, protection, and a higher level of consciousness. Through the month of June, 20% of proceeds from the Rainbow Destiny collection will go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
