I thought Absence of Malice as well as The Verdict had great story lines and dialogue. Both movies seemed to center around the theme of the underdog exposing the agenda's of powerful institutions. Newman's final plea to the jury in The Verdict I thought was well written and well played in the movie. I think Newman did a great job choosing roles. In most of his movies he seems to play charachter's that simply refuse to change or break for better or for worse.
