Both movies seemed to center around the theme of the underdog exposing the agenda's of powerful institutions. Newman's final plea to the jury in The Verdict I thought was well written and well played in the movie. I think Newman did a great job choosing roles. In most of his movies he seems to play charachter's that simply refuse to change or break for better or for worse.
